Meeting the Revenant Dragon in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Dragon Age: Veilguard is full of formidable enemies, but for fans of the series the High Dragons are a legend. The ancient elemental beings that roam Thedas are constantly hunting for prey, hoarding riches and looking to hunt them down.

This guide will give players the information (from ingametor.com) they need to defeat each High Dragon, including their location, weaknesses, helpful tips, how to defeat them and their reward.

Fangscorcher Location In Dragon Age: The Veilguard

The Fangscorcher first appears as the players continue on Taash’s Companion Quests. It is mentioned in a discussion with Cutter, a rival Lords of Fortune. The Veil Jumpers are worried that this dragon is invading the Halla near the Arlathan Forest. She has nested her eggs in an abandoned village. Taash, after completing the “A Dragon Class” quest, will later call Rook and begin a new Quest, entitled: “Slaying the Fangscorcher.”

Quest Waypoint can be found north of Arlathan forest, close to the Water Puzzle.

Follow Taash’s instructions and stay low when the quest begins. The party will move away from the fire as it approaches. Rook, his crew, and the Dragon are all aware of each other, which means there won’t be a surprise attack like there was in earlier Dragon Age games.

How To Beat Fangscorcher In Dragon Age: The Veilguard

To beat the Fangscorcher, the best way to do it is to get up close to the Fangscorcher and avoid the fireballs that fly from a distance (even when players use the Mage Class). Like with all Dragons, the secret lies in its feet. The Fangscorcher Barrier will be crushed if you hit the Dragon’s feet or claws. This results in the Takedown state. This will cause the Dragon to fall and expose the heart zone. In this window, players must quickly attack the heart zone to deal severe damage to this beast.

The Fangscorcher will target Rook while it regenerates its barrier when the health of Fangscorcher drops to 75%. Prepare yourself for the landing of the beast, as it will do a body slam with you at the center.

The Fangscorcher will then repeat this mechanic when it is at 50% health, but will now call in meteors to the skies that cause Fire damage on small patches of the battlefield. It will then use its fire breath in an “jumping rope”-style mechanic, where players must dodge twice before taking Fire damage or becoming Burned.

The Formless One Location In Dragon Age: The Veilguard

The Formless One is the next High Dragon the players may face. This undead Lightning Dragon, trapped under the Great Necropolis Zone, will appear when players first meet Emmrich Volksarin. After completing the Necropolis Introduction Quest, “Where The Dead Must go,” players will be able explore the zone at their leisure.

Players will encounter several Venatori enemy characters trying to open a vault. After they have defeated them and investigated the area they will then hear the voice of a Venatori enemy inside. A new quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard titled “Pinnacle of Its Kind” will appear.

The quest requires players to take down three demons in Dock Town Arlathan forest, and Hossberg Wetlands. The demons are easy to locate on the map, and they can easily be tracked. Players will need to find a censer to activate to call the demons and fight or kill them.

After all demons have been defeated, the players will be able to return to the Vault to take on the last challenge: The Formless One, a gigantic Dracolich.

Revenant Dragon Location In Dragon Age: The Veilguard

It is the hardest High Dragon in the game to find. The Revenant Dragon is located behind the Triple Locked Door in the Crossroads on Beacon Island. The players will have to find three Blight Champions, located at Dock Town, Arlathan forest, and Hossberg Wetlands, to collect their essences, in order to unlock the three doors in Crossroads.

Every door will lead to “Pillar”, a powerful Blighted Knight who is protecting a gigantic Blight Node. Every time a player destroys a Blight Node, they will receive a pure essence. The players must take the purified essence and the three-locked door to open one of its seals to begin the quest, “The Heart of Corruption.”

Players should be ready to take on this High Dragon when they reach level 40, and after completing the Quest of Regrets for the Dread Wolf. This High Dragon can switch between Fire and Lightning elements.
